There are many benefits of Turmeric but here are some of the reasons why I use it. I love it for recovery after exercise. It decreases the pain of DOMS (Delayed onset muscle soreness).

It is fantastic for boosting my immune system, healing my gut and preventing brain fog.

Often, I use it as a pain killer or as an anti inflammatory. It has been proven that Turmeric is a potent natural anti-inflammatory that works as well as many anti-inflammatory drugs but without the side effects. It is a natural painkiller and cox-2 inhibitor.
If I or any of my family gets sick or in pain, out comes the Turmeric!

*It is important to note that curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric so make sure when buying a supplement it has at least 95% curcumin.

Some of my client use it to aid fat metabolism and help with weight management.

I always suggest getting Turmeric from your diet first but often it is hard to get the qualities we need. Most people add it to curries etc but there are 1000’s of recipes on line you could experiment with.

One of my favourite remedies I learned at the clinic while I was training was a cold-fighting tea with ginger and black pepper. Add one teaspoon of turmeric to 12 ounces of water and bring to a boil. Take the water off the heat and add one-quarter teaspoon each of ground ginger and black pepper. You could also make this into golden milk by using coconut milk instead of water. Since curcumin is fat-soluble, consuming it with a fat-containing food or beverage helps you absorb it more effectively.
